Before transrectal prostate ultrasound, the patient should use an enema and empty the rectum, preferably in the morning before the examination.
Yes, the result of the ultrasound examination is provided to the patient immediately after the examination by the radiologist performing the examination.
Every woman should have a prophylactic breast ultrasound at least once a year.
It is also advisable to urgently consult a doctor and have an ultrasound if any change in the breast is noticed or felt.
In case the patient can schedule the examination so that it is between the 5th and 15th day of the cycle, we recommend such an appointment. Breast evaluation is also possible on other days of the cycle.
For abdominal ultrasound examination, you should stay 5-6h fasting. Do not drink coffee, tea, juices. Non-carbonated water is allowed.
We do not realize accurate evaluation of the prostate through the abdominal shell (it is visible in the abdominal ultrasound). At MEDflow, due to the precision and accuracy of the diagnosis, we only perform transrectal ultrasound of the prostate (TRUS). It is necessary to prepare for the examination, i.e. perform an enema with ENEMA rectal infusion.
There are no contraindications in the form of menstruation for an abdominal ultrasound. For the examination, you should be fasting min. 5 h and have a moderately filled bladder.
